THE NINTH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THEATRE AND VISUAL ARTS - ZDARZENIA - TCZEW - EUROPE
Contest of the 9th International Festival of Theatre and Visual Arts ZDARZENIA Tczew – Europe included presentation of 17. various projects i.e. installations in the urban space and theatre performances by debutants from Czech, Lithuania, Poland Slovakia and Hungary. Moreover, the following productions were presented: „The God Nijinski“ by Theatre Wierszalin from Suprasl/ Poland, „Hamlet from Gliwice. The Trial or The Touch Through The Glass“ by Lothe Lachmann Videotheatre Poza from Warsw/ Poland, „Nightmares of the Concentration Camp“ of Theatre Academy of Rome/ Italy, „The Taste of blood“ by Theatre Del from Kaliningrad/ Russia, „The Stories of Peter Zelenka“ by Nowy Theatre from Cracow / Poland. Additionally there was a mini –exhibition of Jozef Szajna’s famous work: „Drang nach Osten - Drang nach Westen“. The exhibition was officially opened by the son of the great artist – Lukasz Szajna. During the festival an “industrial” concert of the music group Vrbovski Vit'azi from Vrbove/ Slovakia took place. Furthermore, the 9th edition of ZDARZENIA festival consisted of the interdisciplinary artistic workshops including: acting, movement, improvisations, music and stage design elements. The workshops started on 30th August and were simultaneously conducted by professional instructors from Czech, Spain, Poland and Slovakia. The activities were concluded with a post-workshop etude which was a part of the artistic program of the festival.

•Maria Żynel – a Grand Prix winner of the 8th International Festival of Theatre and Visual Arts ZDARZENIA Tczew – Europe
PRIZES / THEATRE
•GRAND PRIX prize – funded by President of Tczew – went to Ewa Wozniak a graduate of Department of Puppetry Art in Białystok of State Theatre Academy in Warsaw for „The Islands“ production which fully represents the idea of the festival i.e. integration of art in an individual statement of the artist.
•Two equivalent prizes of the Marshall of Pomeranian Region went to Agata Kucinska a graduate of The State Theatre Academy in Kraków – Department in Wrocław for „The Dreams“ based on Ivan Wyrypajew and Agnieszka Baranowska, a student of Department of Puppetry Art in Białystok of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw for „Orlando“ production.
•Special prize awarded by Fabio Omodei, artistic director of ROMATEATROFESTIVAL, as an invitation for the next year edition of the festival in Rome, went to the students of The Puppetry Department in Wrocław of The State Theatre Academy in Kraków: Katarzyna Joda, Martyna Rozwadowska and Paweł Siwiak, for the performance Witkace based on Witkacy’s work „The Mother“.
•Special prize funded by the Starost of Tczew District went to Máté Bella, a student of University of Theatre and Film Art, Budapest, Hungary, for the music to „The Widows“ by Sławomir Mrożek, performance made by students and directed by Zsuzsy Dávid.
•Audience Prize the Fair Play Prize awarded by the Festival Office went to „CHARLES CHAPLIN. UNTOLD STORY “by the group LA LUNE from Department of Puppetry Art in Białystok of State Theatre Academy in Warsaw.

•Prize funded by The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage went to: : Stefan Kornacki and Dominik Smużny from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun for „Cosmos“.
